Meet our newest recruit! Professional Indemnity specialist, Alex Roebuck.

We are excited to announce we have a new addition to our team.  Meet our new PI specialist, Alex Roebuck.

Welcome to the Hinks team Alex!  Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you were you doing before you joined Hinks Insurance?

I was underwriting Professional Indemnity for construction professionals at a national insurance company – working with Architects, Engineers and Surveyors, mainly.  I’d also source and provide them with other commercial and cyber covers depending on their requirements.

Can you tell us about your role here at Hinks Insurance?

My role at Hinks will be twofold, as I will be arranging renewals and new business quotes for our SME team, as well as providing Professional Indemnity advice and proposals.  Professional Indemnity is a cover taken by professionals to protect them if accused of breaching a duty of care to their clients, and I’m here to find the best solution for their requirements.

I’m always happy to chat informally about someone’s exposure to Professional Indemnity claims; some professionals don’t even realise they can be held accountable for their work, so it’s always worth checking.

What do you enjoy most about working at Hinks Insurance?

I enjoy working for a business with such a strong heritage and such loyal customers – in 90 years of trading Hinks has made lifelong connections with the community and it’s rewarding to be a part of something like that.

What do you get up to in your spare time?

I am a trainee dad, with six months experience, meaning that my spare time boils down to a choice between sleep and anything else! I am a computer hobbyist/enthusiast and I repair and rebuild them for friends and family. I also enjoy camping, fine dining and fishing, though the three don’t combine well! My wife and I enjoy seeing live bands and we always keep an eye out for each year’s Download festival line-up!

 What is your favourite food?

My biggest weakness is Chinese takeaways, but I really enjoy trying new foods, so maybe I’ve yet to find my favourite! You can’t beat roast lamb with garlic and rosemary for a lazy Sunday.

 Tea or coffee?

Last decade I’d have said coffee but now I’ve given up caffeine so I’ll say neither!
